Out and About!
Last week I've had more opportunity than usual to get out and meet new people.
I spent Tuesday lunchtime at Balans in Scone. It's the biggest Pilates studio in Scotland. They host training sessions for Pilates instructors every week and they invited me to demonstrate the new Kinetic Pilates moves that I'll be streaming into classes in October. I enjoyed teaching other instructors and they seemed to have fun, too. Balans will be offering Pilates instructor training in the near future from Lolita San Miguel, an instructor who originally worked with Joseph Pilates himself. They still have 2 places left If you'd like to know more about becoming a Pilates instructor, this is a great place to start.
On Friday I spent the afternoon at the Coupar Angus action picnic in the Town Hall meeting lots of local people, eating cake and having fun. In particular I enjoyed being learning about all the great voluntary groups in Coupar Angus and the work they do to keep winning all these great awards. It's great to feel part of such an active community.
I managed to squeeze in a trip to one of the Perthshire Open Studio Events as well. I saw Freya Cummings' exhibition in Abernyte and made a purchase which I can't wait to see installed at home.
I suppose this week I'd better get my nose back to the grindstone and do some actual work!
I'm almost halfway through my delivery of the Exercise and Reminiscence Pilot Study with the Memory Box Network. My colleagues at the charity will help collate the results but my biggest input will have been made by November time. It's going to be a wrench to leave the Care Home for good once it's over. I'm grateful to have the opportunity to make friends with the residents. Seeing them choose to take part in our class week after week just shows what amazing things people can do at any stage of their lives.
We've got the first Power of 7 Workshop this Thursday. I can squeeze one more person in but there'll be a second offering on Thursday 22nd Sept, too. Sign up today if your name's not on the list. If you missed the info the first time round, here's the link.
I'll be planning the Kinetic Pilates course that's running in October/November. I'm taking names now so look out for some videos etc on Facebook in the near future.
I've also got to plan a workplace motivation session for the lovely Ann and Margaret, Business Developent Co-ordinators for Business Gateway who run the Women in Business Tayside Network. I'll be helping energise and inspire Women in Business at their next training event in October. Whoop Whoop!
Wow - just as well I'm fit! Enjoy Good Health!
